The Standard room is pretty darn good for the price at Amata Resort, it’s located right in the center of Patong, within walking distance to everything. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with a king-size bed, nice firm mattresses and proper linen, stocked minibar, A/C worked OK, safe, Wi-Fi, balcony overlooking the pool. The bathroom is a standard thai wet room standing shower with proper water pressure and heating. Biggest letdown was the older 20-inch CRT TV from another generation but other than that it’s really good value for the money. The Resort has two pools, one on the rooftop with a little terrace with sun loungers with a nice view and a bigger one at ground level. I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
