The Baan Suan Sook Resort is a small family ran business situated on a quiet hillside surrounding Chaweng Lake, Location is good, just far enough away from the strip not to be bothered by all the noise but only a 10 to 15 minutes slow walk from the main entertainment venues and the beach. Definitely a good option for budget travellers, as for under 1000 THB you’ll usually be able to get a hold on of their bungalow style accommodation with comes with a big private balcony/terrace area and all the expected amenities: Cable TV with a few English speaking channels, mini-bar, reliable Wi-Fi signal, en-suite bathroom and air-con system that kept the place cool without being noisy. Yeah sure, the rooms are a little basic but the maid does an excellent job keeping everything kept clean and tidy. The highlights of the resort is the infinity swimming pool at the very top of the hill, where you can dip in the water and admire the views across the island and the coast from the edge of the pool while hearing the monkeys playing in the background. Keep in mind it’s a quite a steep walk up to the pool, even harder in the blazing sun. Those who struggle with the idea or have mobility issues might want to look elsewhere or at the very least make sure to get a bungalow at the bottom of it near the road cause the ones higher up are quite a trek.
Overall I’d definitely recommend the Baan Suan Sook for those on a budget as the price is really reasonable, bungalows are nice and the pool fantastic.
