Older 4-Star Hotel currently closed for complete renovations right on Patong beach with pool and bar facing the beach, big rooms and hard to beat location having both the sand on your feet at one end within a 100m walk to Bangla Road.
The NANA Hotel is a Bangkok institution for over 50 years now, opening its doors in 1963 it is an icon of the naughty nightlife and the Mecca for punters from all over the world over. Of course the main attraction here is having Thailand’s main red-light district, the Nana Entertainment Plaza just across the street. his ex 3-story shopping mall is home to over 30 gogo bars employing a total of about 700 available ladies. There are also numerous bars along the street all within walking distance that provide sufficient choice to satisfy the taste of even the most discerning of gentlemen. Now overshadowed by the Mighty Marriott Hotel towering just behind it, no one can argue Nana Hotel has definitely seen better days but location and value is pretty hard to beat at 1500 Baht. You get big comfy Bed, over 20 English speaking channels on the TV, free WiFi, shower has amazing pressure, big fridge with free bottled water, safe that you can fit a laptop in. Nana Hotel also has an excellent swimming pool area that has numerous sunbeds, an outside Jacuzzi and great buffet breakfast with good choice of thai and western foods drinks included in the room rate. Great location just 2 min walk to beach road, 5 mins to walking street. Nice and secured place to stay, modern design in the rooms with a very decent layout though a little on the smaller side if you go for the cheapest category. Beds are very comfortable beds, not too soft neither too hard, rooms have a small balcony and a place to sit on the side of the bed, Hotel Amenities include a small pool on the third floor and loungers on the roof with views over the Baywalk area and beach road. Staff and security are very professional, good hospitality & overall cleanliness. Have a look at the pictures I took of the room and Aya Boutique Hotel Pattaya below. What you see below are the actual pictures I took when staying in their Deluxe room
Best feature of Al’s Resort is it’s location, right smack in the centre of everything. All of Samui’s best clubs and bars are within 5 minute walk. Yes, the resort is a little worn out and definitely has seen better days but the beach right up front is amazing, great spot for swimming on a beautiful day with lots of sun-beds laying around reserved for guests to chill in, few steps away you have their beachfront pool area and swim up bar area, offering beautiful views over the ocean that you can enjoy cocktail in hand, a second smaller pool is also available in the courtyard. Restaurant on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment, expensive and below par but there’s literally hundreds of options within easy walking distance. Found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. I booked their cheapest Courtyard Deluxe category, room was adequate but a little smallish at 25 m², Courtyard Studio might be better suited for those who plan to spend more time in their rooms or need more space. All the basic necessities provided: Air con, mini-bar, electronic safe, tea and coffee making facilities, free drinking water, etc. Few negatives: Bed a bit hard, […]
