The White Patong is a simple and clean hotel ideal for travelers on a budget who want to be next door from the nightlife hub of Phuket. The hotel is just located just off the Bangla Road junction and 5 minutes walk to the beach. Rooms are a bit small and you may get one without a window, amenities found inside include a comfy king size bed, big fridge, flat-screen TV, good A/C unit and a wet room offering constant hot water. the only other furniture is an old dark wardrobe, bedside the cabinet and a safe, there was no other facilities to make tea or coffee or toiletries. No pool, no lift. Restaurant downstairs is pretty good and cheap as well.

The 247 Boutique Hotel Right in located right at the middle of the Soi honey and very close by to the bar districts Soi Buakhao & Soi LK. Festival mall is about 5 minutes walking distance and 10 from Pattaya beach. This is a new and relatively small hotel, very friendly welcome from staff on arrival, quick check-in & check-out. Amenities include a nice little pool and gym opened until 8PM at the rooftop level. I stayed in one of their Deluxe rooms, not the biggest but clean and modern with see-through glass panel to the bathroom, sofa just besides the comfy bed, air-conditioning is cold and WiFi signal worked fine, would stay here again and can recommend. The Acca Patong is a 3-Star that offers pretty good value, just 5 mins walk to Bangla road and 10 mins from the beach. the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and come with quality linen and pillows, aircon worked really well, modern toilet where the hot shower was working, flatscreen TV with English channels, staff is nice.

The Adelphi Suites Bangkok is located on a quiet street really near all the fun and lights of Bangkok, the main two redlight districts are within easy walking distance. Nana Plaza is less than 10 mins away and Soi Cowboy under 15 mins so so you really don’t need to hassle with tuk-tuk/taxi drivers or take any form of public transportation.

The Admiral Premier Bangkok is less than 5 minutes walk from Soi Cowboy, one of Bangkok’s best red light districts. For a single guy traveling alone, this is a perfect location.

The Admiral Suites is located on Soi 22, right at the doorstep of Bangkok’s Phrom Phong area. This is where you will find the biggest concentration of oily/naughty massage shops in the city. The famous red light district of Soi Cowboy is fifteen minutes walk away and from there you can easily reach Nana Plaza, only one stop from the Asoke BTS Station.

Best feature of Al’s Resort is it’s location, right smack in the centre of everything. All of Samui’s best clubs and bars are within 5 minute walk. Yes, the resort is a little worn out and definitely has seen better days but the beach right up front is amazing, great spot for swimming on a beautiful day with lots of sun-beds laying around reserved for guests to chill in, few steps away you have their beachfront pool area and swim up bar area, offering beautiful views over the ocean that you can enjoy cocktail in hand, a second smaller pool is also available in the courtyard. Restaurant on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment, expensive and below par but there’s literally hundreds of options within easy walking distance. Found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. I booked their cheapest Courtyard Deluxe category, room was adequate but a little smallish at 25 m², Courtyard Studio might be better suited for those who plan to spend more time in their rooms or need more space. Location wise, it is not the best as it is a good 15-20 mins walk from Bangla Road and Patong beach. Rooms have a stylish design and excellent lighting, bed is quite comfy and I liked the way they designed a small living area in front of it. Hotel amenities include a rooftop pool area on two levels, one to hang and chill in the open and the other with the pool itself.

The Alt Nana is a great little hotel hidden in an alley just off the main Soi 4 drag and about 10 mins walk from Nana Plaza. Suites are quite spacious at 45-50 sq.m and are very well furnished with kitchen and full sized fridge, big living room with couches, comfy bed.

The Amata Resort is right in the center of Patong, within walking distance to everything. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with a balcony overlooking the pool.

The Ambassador Hotel Bangkok is very conveniently located in Soi 11, one of the busiest street in the Sukhumvit area with numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants. Once the night falls you are sure to find a lot of available Thai ladies in the various venues or right off the street selling their wares. The two biggest Red-light districts of Bangkok: Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy are also within walking distance respectively 10 & 15 minutes away.

The April Suites is a very well-run hotel hidden 110 meters from 2nd road down a narrow dead end street that gets very little traffic noise. Location is quite good for Central Pattaya, the beer bars enclaves of Soi 6, 7 & 8 can all be reached within a 10 minutes walk including beach road. The hotel is managed by a Chinese owner (who also owns sister hotels August Suites and March Hotel) who puts a lot of effort on cleanliness and staff training which clearly is paying off as a 4th property, the May Hotel has opened nearby. Rooms are modern and comfortable, though sparingly equipped but at this price it’s one of the best values in town and with everything a monger needs to enjoy his holiday. Hotel facilities include a rooftop terrace with pool, bar, gym and sauna which might not be the largest in the city but is nonetheless very relaxing for a swim and a drink. Staff is very friendly and cooperative, excellent bang for the buck. Have a look above for the pictures of the room and hotel amenities.

Nothing fancy about the Apsara Residence, another cheap 3-star hotel in Soi Sansabai that’s easy on the wallet. No luxury appartements here, rooms are basic, a bit outdated and far from fantastic but the place is kept very clean and the bedding is comfy with a quality matress and linen, location is great if you are here to enjoy the nightlife as you are within a two minute walk from Bangla Road.

The Areca Lodge is located on Soi Diana just one block west of Soi LK Metro and two blocks west of Soi Buakhao, so you’ll have lots of beer bars and ago-go in the area. Due to popularity over the years the hotel has enlarged into 3 wings, latest is the Evergreen building where I stayed this trip. Grounds at the Areca Lodge are massive and beautiful, everything inside of the hotel is kept perfectly clean. Amenities include two marvelous pools, a great place to chill during the day, their Blue Ocean café pool bar and restaurant offers delicious food and there’s always plenty of staff around to get your drinks. Stayed in their Deluxe room, which is furthest one from the entrance and therefore very peaceful and quiet at night far from the noise of Soi Diana, found it to be excellent, spacious and bright, all the modern amenities needed, big flat-screen TV, AC is powerful and quiet, bathroom was small and had no separate shower, just bath over shower, the WIFI worked very good, lots of electrical outlets. The Ark Bar Beach Resort is a large complex featuring several bars and restaurants set up around a main swimming pool with swim up bar. This place is slap bang in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, just 2 minutes walk from Soi Green Mango and mostly caters to young party people (18 to 40 years old), who like to listen to DJ’s playing electronic beats. Typical day starts with chilling house music in the morning, that slowly gets louder in the afternoon and escalates until the whole place transforms into one big beach party at night. There are live DJ’s from 2PM until 02AM daily, two big beach parties each week on Wednesdays & Fridays plus pool parties going on around the clock, needless to say, don’t come here if you want to avoid party central. The resort does has two more secluded and relatively quiet pools if you really need some time off to recover after a long night out. The Arte Hotel is one of the newer properties to open in the Asoke area. The Location on Soi 19 is excellent, a Quiet spot only a 10 mins walk from Soi Cowboy with easy access to everything that Bangkok has to offer through the Asoke Subway and Skytrain less than 5 mins away. First impressions on arrival were very positive, Lobby was posh, competent staff and easy check-inn, interior decor is very appealing and the highlight is their rooftop pool and lounge area on the 9th floor overlooking the city, very nice spot to relax with beer or cocktail in hand.

The Aspen Suites Hotel is tucked away near the end of Soi 2 in a very quiet location less 10 minutes walk from the party zone on Soi 4 and the Red Light District of Nana Plaza. The pictures you see that I have taken here (and below) are of their Deluxe Room.

The Aspery is a great little 3-Star Hotel with clean and tidy rooms, above average for the rates. Located just a few mins walk from Patong Beach, it also has a rooftop pool which offers plenty of space for lazying around.

The At Mind Premier Suites is the latest addition to the popular @Mind group in Pattaya. Hotel is modern and very nicely designed, location can be a bit tricky at first as it’s located down a little alley way 200 meters from Central Pattaya road but once you do get to know your way around the area, you can hit Pattaya Secondary road & Soi 7 in about 10 minutes walking distance or the beach and Soi 6 within 15 mins. I have to say I was really impressed with their rooms, they really deserve their Certificate of Excellence rating on Trip Advisor. The Deluxe room I booked was super modern and came with all the amenities of a studio apartment: Comfy queen size bed, kitchenette with big fridge and washing machine, living room area with a 40-inch LED-TV and couch, well equipped bathroom with both tub and walk in shower, solid wi-fi signal, silent AC. The At Mind Serviced Residence has a few things going for it, a quiet location just 5 minutes walk from the nightlife of Soi 6, a very relaxing and tranquil swimming pool area surrounded by well kept gardens, great gym/sauna and modern suites/apartments with ample storage for a long stay. The accommodations are quite spacious with their smallest studio units starting at 45sq.m which should satisfy most, I gave a try at their 1-Bedroom Suite this time around which are even bigger at 60sq.m and offer loads of space. Amenities include a large walk-in dressing room with hanging space and electronic safe that makes it easy to keep the place tidy, kitchenette with large fridge/freezer, 2 LED 32-inch TV’s (one for the living room, the other is found in the bedroom) and a balcony overlooking the pool. Overall cleanliness was great, staff are all very nice, no problems with your overnight guests, a breeze to check them in and out, can definitely recommend. The August Suites is a lovely little hotel with a good location within Central Pattaya, just a minute walking distance from the junction of 2nd road and central road. it’s also conveniently set back from the main road on a quiet cul-de-sac so you are well insulated from the noise, very close to the entrance of Soi Buakhao and maybe 5 minutes from the beer bars of Soi 7 & 8. Hotel is kept spotlessly clean, on the 2nd floor there is a cozy pool and bar area with a little Jacuzzi, drinks are reasonably priced at around 50 baht for a beer, also found on the same floor are a lounge area to take in the sun, sauna, gym and pool room. Rooms are clean and spacious starting at 40 sq.m for the cheapest category, all of them have a balcony, I suggest trying to get a pool side room if possible. Beds are large and quite comfy, fridge offers plenty of storage space, LED-TV offered an abundance of movie channels for downtime from wich you can watch from the nice little 1-seat sofa, bathroom is above-average with separate tub and glass-enclosed shower, great water temperature and pressure, lots […]

Great location just 2 min walk to beach road, 5 mins to walking street. Nice and secured place to stay, modern design in the rooms with a very decent layout though a little on the smaller side if you go for the cheapest category. Beds are very comfortable beds, not too soft neither too hard, rooms have a small balcony and a place to sit on the side of the bed, Hotel Amenities include a small pool on the third floor and loungers on the roof with views over the Baywalk area and beach road. Very well priced no-frills 2.5 Star hotel in a desirable location, on quiet soi just off the beach. Rooms aren’t exactly luxurious but they are spacious and kept very clean and include a full size fridge offering modestly priced minibar selections. Bed was a little to hard for my taste, There is a balcony with a sink, amenities is a small pool area which looked nice enough but I didn’t use. No lift. The one negative is that rooms did not have blackout curtains. Staff is very friendly and competent.

Almost as famous as the island itself, Soi Bangla is the undisputed heart of all the naughty Phuket nightlife. Running perpendicular to Patong Beach, this 400 meter long ad is a single’s man dream. A true festival of neon lights packed with an overwhelming variety of venues: Everything from 100+ girly bars manned by an army of scantily clad dancers to discos filled almost exclusively by freelancers, great live music bars playing the classics and gogo-bars that all have for decades now, put soi Bangla firmly on the map as one of Thailand’s leading red light district. While similar to what you would fine in Pattaya, the beer bars of Bangla road are a step up and hands down the best you will find anywhere in Thailand. Yes they might be more expensive than elsewhere but not only are they much better decorated and maintained, they also come staffed by a younger, sexier and usually way more attractive set of bargirls. While you’ll find beer bars spread across soi Bangla and it’s side streets such as Soi Eric (now Soi Freedom) and Soi Easy (now Soi Hollywood), the largest concentration of girly bars is currently found on soi Tiger (ground floor […]

The Basaya Beach Hotel and Resort is located in Central Pattaya right across from the beach, the settings are quite nice with lots of greeneries and a big pool. This property tends to offer good rates all year long for a reason, It’s dated, and by dated I mean 40+ years old dated, most probably the oldest, still standing resort along Pattaya beach road. Originally built in 1964, it definitely lacks sparkle and is a bit rough round the edges in some parts, especially with the standard rooms, which are in need of intense renovation. The common areas are also old but well kept, The pool and gardens are very inviting and seem well looked after, the deck furniture on the other hand could do with an overhaul. Most rooms are on the ground floor and have dated furniture, TV needs updating to flat-screen, wifi is non existent or just tolerable in the rooms and there’s only a single electrical outlet available but well, you can’t expect much for the price and prime location. The Bayview Hotel Pattaya is located smack in the center of Pattaya Beach, just meters from the beach beside Beach Road. This is an older property built some 35 years ago but been upgraded many times

The Baywalk residence enjoys a great location on Beach road and is quite close to Walking Street. The rooms were decent size and kept clean.

The Beach Front Resort enjoys a great location just opposite from Pattaya beach on the north side of the Pattaya Beach. Amenities are minimum, no pool or gym but the rooms are nice and cleaned daily

Beer Bar Central is the best option for single male traveler looking for companionship and nightlife entertainment in Lamai. This area hosts the town’s largest concentration of girlie bars and can be found just a few minutes walk away from the more family friendly Lamai Central Plaza. Crowd is a little older, very few couples around so the bargirls are more brash, fun and energetic. This redlight district is comprised of a large beer bar complex at it’s centre surrounded with more girlie bars sprinkled along it’s interconnected streets, all of which are competing for the chance to go make your at night. Your best bet is to just wander around this busy areas until you find something that catches your fancy, beware what you pick as some bars have also ladyboys working.

The Beer Garden on Soi 7 in Sukhumvit has been a famous freelancer pickup joint for decades, one of the few places that is still running since the Vietnam war era, after the mass departure of American soldiers on R&R in Thailand a new wave of Western mass tourism arrived in Bangkok which was dubbed as the “German Invasion”. This when the Beer Garden was re-branded as the Bier Garten, one of the few surviving old-school bars from the 70’s era. The place is a mix of bar and restaurant which plays music and live sporting events, there is seating for 50 at the dining tables and 300 at the bars. The place has a nice atmosphere, very casual, people are friendly and the freelancers aren’t aggressive, no overpriced drinks, food is good, service is fair and professional. This is one of the main reasons it attracts a crowd of mostly middle age male and expats. The average working girls here isn’t in Bangkok’s top tier but they are pleasant to chat with and share a joke, nor do they harass unsuspecting customers unsuspecting tourist like the bargirls in other places. The Bella Villa Prima Hotel is pretty new, located on Soi 4 it’s a little way away from central Pattaya but just 2 minutes walk from Beach Road and the beer bars of Soi 6. Room was spacious room with pool view, quiet with no noise from outside.

The Best Beach Villa is located at the quieter end of Pattaya some 200 metres from the beach and a similar distance from Soi 6. Rooms are spacious and tidy and do the job, although the decor is a little tired.

The Best Western Premier Sukhumvit is great new addition to the guest friendly Hotel in the Sukhumvit area. Opened just a few years ago in Mai 2012, the hotel looked good throughout: Elegant, smart, clean throughout this is actually nicest Best Western Hotel I have ever stayed in, and I can tell you I’ve stayed in quite a few around the world!

The Bill Resort is a cheap and easy place offering guests a relaxing environment right along one of my favorite parts of Lamai beach. Resort is quite big, spreading out from the top of the hillside all the way down to the swimming pool and restaurant area next to the wonderful beachfront. The setting are really nice, rustic little bamboo huts surrounded by nicely manicured gardens, plants and trees which truly immerse you in the jungle. I Didn’t come here expecting for big luxury so I was quite pleased with the cheapest standard bungalow category which are bit dated but come with all the basic necessities : A big bed (little hard but nothing outside the Thai norm), small fridge stocked with cold drinks, good AC (but not great), older TV set with a handful of english speaking channels and a terrace to sit outside. Location is about 10-15 minutes from the nightlife, be aware the cheaper category rooms involve a trek up a steep hill. In the end I’d say Bill Resort is great for the money and would come back in a heart beat, perfect for those who like it simple, comfortable and cheap. Definitely not 5-star accommodations […]

Boss Suites Nana is located about 70 m inside down a quiet alley right off from Soi 4, so while it’s only a short 10 minutes walk from the craziness of Nana Plaza you can still escape the noise and get a good night sleep once back in your room. The hotel also provides a free Tuk Tuk shuttle to Nana BTS Skytrain and Sukhumvit Main Road

The Chalala is an older but well-maintained beachfront resort facing a little lagoon surrounding the Koh Mat Lang island. The area right up front is too shallow for swimming, so you’ll have to walk down to the right a few 100 meters and for any really type of bathing or use their pool right next to the beach to cool off in. The resort is quite small with only 16 individual bungalow spread out across lush tropical gardens which offers a very relaxed atmosphere, food at the beachfront restaurant is good and very decently priced, bar has one of the longest happy hour ever, from 12pm to 9pm and attracts lots of people from neighbouring resorts. The bungalows are a bit quirky, but they have plenty of space and are colourful. Inside, one could almost (ok with a little imagination) picture living in the town of Bedrock from the Flintstones era. The interior is spit in two levels, with a raised area for the bedroom in the back. The Chaweng Palace is a budget hotel located in a relatively quiet side-street, just a stone’s throw from the beach (160 meters away) and 10 to 15 min walk to the nightlife of Soi Reggae & Soi Green Mango. Nothing fancy here, you won’t find any pool, restaurant or even elevator. Facilities are limited to 16 guest rooms spread in a 3-storey building. Since my first visit so Samui, a little over a decade ago they have consistently been one of the cheapest guest friendly hotels in the area with prices usually hovering under 1000 Bahts. I have always booked the Superior room during my visits, they are spartanly furnished and kept reasonably clean, beds are firm but nothing outside of the usual Thai standards. Amenities are limited to the bare minimum: TV, small mini-bar, safe and A/C. No kettle with tea/coffee or complementary water. Shower system in the bathroom is old and in need of an upgrade but nonetheless did the job. Overall definitely a little rough around the edges but for the cheap price of admission one cannot really complain. Good option for travellers on a budget who are looking for room 2 minutes walk from the beach. […]

Located on one of the liveliest streets in Bangkok the Climax Nightclub is usually the 1st place I recommend friends to check out when looking for freelancers, 90% of the females there are working girls and many quite sexy. Since the place closes late at around 4AM many of the go go bar girls from Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy who are looking to make some extra cash end up there after their shift. The Climax nightclub first opened its doors a little over a decade ago and quickly became a popular pick up joint as it was one of the few late night options in Bangkok. Their recipe for success is very similar to what made clubs in Bangla Rd, Phuket popular: Live bands to please the tourists and to drive the local talent, free entry and massively discounted drinks for Thai ladies. With great beats, hot Thai ladies and live gigs as well as a DJ sets, Climax blends this all well together to make your evening a wild one.

The Coconut Beach Resort is a modern airy three story building ideally situated right next to the beach and within a 5 minutes walk from the Lamai Central Plaza beer bar complex. The beach end is beautiful, very good spot for swimming, plenty of beach lounges to go around, cold beer served at the bamboo bar and nice quiet pool just few steps away from the ocean. Booked the cheapest category standard room, fairly modern but a bit spartan, size ok at 30 m², decently sized balcony, all the essential amenities covered: Big comfy bed & pillows, good air-con unit, mini-bar, free Wi-Fi desk, bathroom has shower over bath. Few negatives: LCD TV attached in a corner on the ceiling is a bit small, boiler with tea/coffee missing but available for free at the reception. Otherwise nothing to really complain, central to the nightlife, right at the beach with pool and bar, definitely recommended for the price. The Coconut Village Resort is nice property with garden and swimming pool located in a quiet corner of Patong about 5 mins walk from the beach and an easy 15-20 minutes walk from Bangla Road. Swimming pool which although not huge is ok good for relaxing in on a long hot day, lots of greeneries around. Room are quite spacious and of good standard with a nice size balcony. The staff were all very friendly and helpful

The D Hotel is an all new property that’s been getting rave reviews since it opened in 2016 so I decided to check it out this December 2017. Location wise it’s perfect, since it’s hidden down a quiet alley you won’t be getting any problem sleeping at night. At the same time it’s only 50 meters from Soi Buakhao and its nightlife, from where a quick 5 minute walk across Soi New Plaza gets you to Pattaya’s 2nd Road, with all the beer bar action of Soi 7 & 8 on the other side of the street, just 6 mins to CentralFestival mall, 10 mins walk straight to the beach or Soi LK Metro, direct access to the baht bus when you need to get to Walking street or Soi 6 quickly. Booked their cheapest Standard category, prices are very reasonable and the room is still quite sizable at 32 sqm. Amenities include a comfortable King sized bed, sofa, table and chairs, 32-inch LED TV with a good selection of English channels, quiet A/C unit with separate fan, large mini-bar sink opposite to a sink area, average WiFi signal, large electronic safe that could fit a 15-inch laptop, bathroom with walk-in shower, […]

The Dawin Bangkok is a newly renovated hotel right on Soi Nana (Soi 4) which offers perfectly adequate accommodations for single travelers that wish to be near the biggest red light district of Thailand Nana Plaza. Walking distance is just under than 10 minutes with no shortage of bars, clubs, massage joints, restaurants, 7/11’s, etc. on the way there.

The Majestic Grande Hotel is another one of my favorite places to stay in Sukhumvit, definitely a cut above the expected levels for the Nana area. The Location on Soi 2 is surprisingly quiet, considering it’s only a 30 second walk across to Soi 4 and under 5 mins from Nana Plaza. Getting to Soi Cowboy and the greater Bangkok is also a breeze with both BTS/Skytain stations Ploenchit and Nana within easy walking distance.

The Dream Hotel is a great little boutique hotel located in a very relaxed atmosphere on a quiet Soi up 200 meters from Sukhumvit road. A 10 minutes stroll will get you to either Asoke or Nana BTS/Skytrain Stations & within 15 minutes walk maximum you can be sitting in a bar of one of the two biggest Red-Light Districts of Bangkok: Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy.

Drinking Street is a open-air beer bar complex found in North Pattaya on the corner of 2nd road and Soi 1, directly opposite from the Tiffany Ladyboy Cabaret show. Despite of it’s out of the way location, Drinking Street has managed to grow over the years from a tiny little enclave made up of a handful of hut style bars to a large open-air stadium sized complex of 20+ bars. Drinks here are quite a bargain compared with the prices of Walking Street, though there are a little more expensive at the bars at the front of the complex than in the middle or back. there’s a good overall chilled atmosphere, quite a pleasant place to drop by the evening for having a few cold beers and chat with friendly bar staff. There’s an abundance of pool tables and the ladies will be happy to have a game with you. One of the cool things about Drinking Street is there is a central DJ playing music for the whole complex so there is no overly noisy music blaring from each bar trying to compete with eachother. The location of the Dynasty Grande Hotel is wonderful, tucked away on a small soi you get a quiet place to retreat at night yet within easy access to Nana Plaza and Soi 4 a few minutes walk away. Rooms are spacious and quite comfortable, bathroom maybe a little dated but comes with full bath and a seperate enclosed shower offering great water pressure. The Bella Vista Hotel & Residence is a clean budget 2-star hotel located between Soi 8 & 7, known for it’s many beer bars, Rooms are tired but kept clean. Plenty of sounds from the nearby bars until at last 1 am due to the live bands playing.

The Eastiny Seven is an older budget hotel for traveler who enjoys being right in the heart of the action, surrounded by bars, girls and music.

The EQ Late Night Club is the only disco in direct vincinity of Nana Plaza’s red light district, all you need to do to get there within a minutes walk is turn on your left as you exit the strip bars onto Soi 4 and walk down past the newly opened Hooters. This makes it very convenient to just pop in for a drink and see if there are any Thai ladies that you fancy without having to take the usual taxi or tuk-tuk route. Most of the clientele for that reason are from the area and arrive directly from the A-GoGos and bars of Soi Nana after they have been forced to shut down at 2AM. The EQ is small club, somewhere around 200 people capacity, decor is modern and bright where a bunch of pretty sexy coyote waitresses serve, dance and entertain the crowd to the beat of resident and guest DJ’s playing a mix of EDM, Top 40 Mash-ups and Hip Hop beats. The Flipper Lodge is an older hotel that has been refurbished quite recently, located on Soi 8 is right in the heart of one of the biggest beer bar enclaves of Pattaya and just 60m from the beach.

The Fraser Suites Sukhumvit is one of my favorite hotels in Bangkok, big 1-bedroom apartments with an excellent bar and pool, it enjoys a great quiet location just off the main road of Soi 11 with lots of nice bars, pubs, clubs and eating joints less than 5 minutes walk away.

The Galleria 10 Sukhumvit Bangkok is a cosy little boutique hotel conveniently located about 250mtrs down Soi 10, between the Asok and Nana BTS stations so it’s just a 10 to 15 minutes walk from Nana Plaza or to Cowboy Soi. The rooftop area with swimming pool, bar & restaurant are nice great place to chill. Room decor is modern and trendy, the superior room I booked was a little tight for space, loved the blue mood lights and furnishings, the kingsize bed is super soft, nice LED TV with lots of channels, great AC for the hot weather, The only issue is the slow wifi speed at times and the tiny mini-bar, other than that very happy of my stay. The Grand Bella Hotel is a new property that was just completed in 2014 so all their facilities are brand spanking new, of which include a very nice swimming pool at the ground level with water slide, jacuzzi, spa and bar.

The Grand President is a big, old-fashioned Hotel with a great central location right in the thick of Soi 11. A very popular street that comes to life in the evening with plenty of clubs, bars, restaurants, street food and nightlife venues that are just a few minutes away, The red-light districts of Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are also nearby and can both be reached respectively in 10 and 15 mins walk. Hotel has 437 rooms and comprises three separate towers, reception is found in tower 1, tower 2 is adjacent and tower 3 is just across the road, All 3 towers have their own rooftop pool and restaurant.

It’s nice to have a little luxury once in a while and the Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 is exactly that, location is fantastic, you can walk straight into the hotel from the Asoke BTS skytrain platform or the Terminal 21 mall, Soi Cowboy is just across the street, Nana Plaza one stop away. The rooms are exceptional due to the oversize glass window offering perfect views on the skyline of Bangkok, electric blinds that block out shades, comfortable bed and pillows, nice floor tiles, big refrigerator with freezer, wide screen TV with an excellent selection of channels, top notch wi-fi. One of the best features of the hotel is it’s fantastic rooftop infinity pool, one of the best in Bangkok with plenty of sun loungers and since it’s 30 meters long also good for lap swimmers, I could spend hours just chilling around it. The Heaven at 4 is located right on Soi 4 Nana, just 2 blocks from Nana Plaza with an endless stream of bars right at your doorstep, amenities at this budget category hotel are limited to a bar & pool table area near the lobby, no pool or gym, it’s not a huge place, but was happy overall with the accommodations. Booked their Deluxe category, room was of decent size and pretty clean and tidy, some parts are starting to show it’s age and it could need a fresh coat of paint but everything worked well, large comfortable double bed, TV, mini bar, air-con, wi-fi good shower with lots of hot water, boiler with free coffee, closet with a small safe, 2 free bottles of water each day. The mood lighting in the room also which was a nice touch, while there is a balcony it was paneled off so there was no view at all. Other than that nothing much to complain about, staff are a friendly bunch, not a bad option if you want to be in the middle of the action without spending too much. Located on Soi Easy off Bangla Road and opened since 2008, Hollywood Disco is one of the oldest and most popular freelancer hotspots in Patong. The club changed hands a few times over the years but always managed to remains one of the premium nightclubs in Phuket under the Hollywood banner. After an unsuccessful rebranding attempt as the VIP Room Patong Beach between December 2015 and November 2016 and a closure of a few months, the entertainment venue is now back to its original name and atmosphere. The concept has slightly changed and is now a bit similar to the Tai Pan Disco combining live performance acts earlier in the evening from 9pm to 11pm with talented resident Thai and occasional International DJ’s until 3am and as a final act, a Thai band performing until closure. The nightclub is divided in two large separate rooms, each playing different kinds of music. The first room is where you’ll see most of the Thai freelancer around the tables, while the dance floor itself is in the second room. Great new trendy boutique hotel with a brilliant location on Soi 2, totally isolated from surrounding noise but at the same time just a 3 minutes walk from to the hustle and bustle of Soi 4’s Red-light district and maybe 5 minutes away from the entrance of Nana Plaza.

The Hotel Solo Sukhumvit 2 is a is a lovely little boutique type hotel, just far enough down the soi 2 to be quiet while just 5-10 mins walk away from Nana Plaza and all the action on Soi 4, a free Tuk-Tuk shuttle to Sukhumvit road is also available if needed. My favorite feature is their rooftop pool/bar, relaxing and cozy, very nice place to chill after a long hot day. Booked a deluxe room, which ended up being to my taste, while not huge in size they are clean and really well appointed, beds are comfortable, air-con and shower work well,good set of free toiletries, ample storage space, modern Led-TV, complimentary tea/coffee, friendly english speaking staff, definitely is worth the price and it’s certificate of excellence by TripAdvidor. The Ibis Pattaya is located in North Pattaya, 5 minutes from the beach and across the street from 2nd road, rooms are smallish but the bed are comfortable, quite in line the typical Ibis standards worldwide. Here is a view of my Standard room layout on arrival.

Formerly Insomnia, The Insanity Nightclub been an important part of Bangkok’s nightlife for quite a few years already and is quite popular with Thai girls, tourists and expats. They have used great marketing tactics in the past to attract to the local talent through advertisement on Soi Cowboy, inviting bargirls who have not found a customer in Go-Go bars by closing time to come to the club and try their luck as late night freelancers offering them a special prices on drinks and free entrance. The tactic has worked very well and on average on any given night the working girl make up over 75% of the ladies that show up. The sexiest girls for hire have a tendency to grab tables surrounding the dance floor and the ugliest are found in the darkest area of the club along the bar in the back. The club is quite big and has enough space to host 300 to 400 guests but usually doesn’t start getting busy until 1AM. The Jasmine City Hotel couldn’t be in a better position, all you need to do is turn right and 50 meters later you’ve arrived in Soi Cowboy, maybe 3 min walk to Asok BTS and 5 minutes to Terminal 21, lots of food and bars around, still very quiet at night once you head back to your room. Facilities include a pool on the 10th floor between the two towers of the hotel anf a gym. Make no mistake, this is an older hotel, so the decor is a bit dated but having said that the rooms are kept immaculately clean and are fully functional. I booked their Executive Suite with Jacuzzi and was very happy with it, spacious 45 sq.m living space with wood flooring, comfortable bed with nice linens, nice big sofa with a view of the Asoke Skytrain in the background, big TV with stereo sound system with lots of English speaking channels, a second room with a well-equipped kitchenette, full sized refrigerator. The KTK Regent Suite is a new property with a classic decor located in a quiet alley with no noise about 5-10 minutes walk from 2nd road from which the hotel also provides 24 hour complimentary shuttle service, Soi 6 right around the corner. Hotel amenities are quite good,you have 2 pools (indoor & exterior),a gym, mini golf and restaurant with offers a menu à la carte & buffet, staff are helpful and always with a smile on their face. Suites are very spacious starting at 57 m² with a superb set amenities for the cost: Huge King size bed, comfortable couch from which you can enjoy a boat load of channels the 42-Inch Flat screen TV, kitchenette/dining area with massive fridge and essentials such as microwave, bottle opener and glasses, well designed bathroom with separate walk-in shower and bathtub large enough for two, The balcony is not the biggest in size but has ample space for two people to sit on. Overall, very satisfied with my stay at this new Pattaya property, can recommend! The KTK Royal Residence is located in quiet area less than 10 minutes walk away from Soi 6, while it’s just slightly out of the way from the main central Pattaya area (Soi 7 is around 15 mins walk) the hotel operates, for those who wish, a free and efficient 24-hours Tuk Tuk service that will get you to any of the main roads. The KTK chain offer great accommodations, stayed both in the KTK Royal Residence and their KTK Regent Suite wing in the past. Really nice rooms, lovely soft king size bed, modern appliances and furnishings, comes with one sofa or comfy chair set, big 42-inch TV, work desk area, kitchenette corner with big fridge, table with chairs and a small balcony, housekeeping works very hard at keeping the place clean. Hotel amenities include two pools, both indoor and outdoor (more for cooling off than laps but nice nonetheless), a sauna, restaurant, gym and small indoor putting green if you want to try out your putting skills.
